Chiswick Courtyard Garden

This beautiful courtyard garden in Chiswick is a fine example of how to design a garden with only the small amount of space often available to London houses. The owners had excavated the back of their house to create a kitchen beneath the garden area with a skylight in its roof which is incorporated in the garden. We used the highest specifications for materials when building the garden; the coping, paving and back of fountain are built in sawn York stone, the wooden bench is Sapele wood and the pergola is Cedar wood. The garden ‘style’ is Italian hence the pergola, cupressus semperviren trees and the delightful water feature. We installed fabulous soft ambient lighting by using uplighters and an interesting ‘string’ of lights over the pergola and fountain. Another successful project from Carline Garland, one of the leading garden designers in South London.
