This is a lovely long garden with herbaceous borders on either side. The garden is located in Wandsworth. Parts of the garden are in heavy shade a lot of the time and so this had to be taken into account when planting. The owner wanted to retain an English country garden effect but also wanted to add a garden office, new fencing and a new seating area by the office. We made a pretty small brick patio by the office and then edged the paved terrace nearer the house with the same brick to make a more integral finish linking the two hard landscaped areas with a stepping stone path. We created flower beds in front of her office and then added lots of lovely classical plants such as lavenders, buddlejas, ceanothus, digitalis, stachys, hellebores, agapanthus, ferns along with a pretty small silver birch.
