Italian garden in Clapham

This was a hard landscaped garden which was not only uncared for but also had suffered the rigours of an Alsatian puppy’s activities throughout the Spring!  It was really looking more like a back yard!  The owner wanted to transform it into a lighter, more private and welcoming space – in fact she wanted an Italian garden.  However the budget was reasonably small so we decided to stick with the original paving and put the emphasis on brightening up the walls and the heavy wooden fencing by painting them.  We stripped away all the heavy climbers and planted some olives and pencil cedar trees and terracotta pots and statues and the effect is pretty good we think!
