Iris reticulata ‘Gordon’ is a member of the Reticulata group of iris. It produces lobelia blue flowers with golden yellow/orange and white throats in early spring, February/March. It is ideal for pots or rockeries. Plant the bulbs 5-10cm (2-4in) apart at twice their own depth in well-drained, moderately fertile soil in sun or partial shade. Top dress the soil with grit to avoid the delicate blooms getting splashed with soil when it rains. To propagate, divide bulbs from mid-summer to early autumn to increase stocks. They grow to 15 cm with a spread of 10 cm.
