This was the state of the garden as we found it. It was a tiny garden at the back of a beautiful new development. The fence to the left was sitting on a wall and on the other side was the public pavement. The clients wanted to build a wall and have access from the street from there. All the fencing was to be renewed, the paving was to be replaced, astroturf was to be installed and the planting is to be low maintenance.
We installed cedar wood horizontal fencing, beautiful limestone paving and left room for minimal planting.
We installed some beautiful brick steps with York stone coping and the bannister is to be glass and steel. We are planting espaliered trees along the wall and low maintenance plants such as lavenders, sedums, astelias and buxus in the small beds around. We will also be planting a tree in each corner, at the moment we are thinking of standard magnolias.
The wall was built from old London stock and the wall was coped with York stone. The finish was stunning.
