This is a wonderful garden which works in terms of colour, beauty and practicality. The plants are feasible and as a garden designer this is what I want to see. Particular note has been taken to bring accord between the sculptural elements and the planting and this would work in any English country garden. It has interest and simplicity strapped together in a pretty confection of textures, shapes and hues. I love it.
This garden really WORKS for me. I can see this in a London town garden or in a country estate. It is very clever, very beautiful and has tranquility. As a garden designer I want to have my imagination fired up with new ideas but I also want to see a garden that works. This really does it for me. Why this didn’t win Best in Show I can’t imagine!
What a lovely crazy garden! This is a garden which has shape and form made from blocks of woven willow and yew and then larger areas of barley… this would not be one to replicate in your own garden but mad and crazy – I love it! AND it makes us think about natural crafts, textures and materials – all good stuff.
I love this wall, I really love this wall. I want one! I love the way the plants bring out the blue and grey in the stone and the softness of the planting generally. Sympathetic to an over all theme of natural simplicity. A little bit of structure brought in with the planting but mostly wild and random looking – absolutely GREAT.
